Poetry: Little did I knew


LITTLE DID I KNEW 

Little did l know that
the sky is not the limit.
I read it, I heard it
but never thought of measuring it.

Those who say it,
have dared to walk down it.
I saw it blue and overhead.
Never did I try to raise my hand.

Till now I was kneeling,
never stood up and stretched.
Not even try to be on my toes,
and reach a scale nearer.

Just the thought of trying
dwells your path a step forward,
the next always follows.
Think and everything is possible.

Little did I know,
that " sky is not the limit"
is not just a phrase
and that phrases shape out of acts.

Little did I know,
that there are millions,
who have already found their way,
and reached beyond SKY.

Short Story in English : Sunanda's Mother by law

    SUNANDA'S MOTHER BY LAW   Sunanda was having her tea sitting beside the rocking easy chair of her mamma. "Mamma" as she called her.  Her biological mother left her, as everybody says when she was only four. She has seen her in old black-and-white pictures. Those pics were as if Sunanda had tried to go back in time. She was a true copy of her mother, but she became a true copy of her 'mamma' when it comes to her character. Today it's the third day that the chair beside her has been vacant.  For the past 33 years, she must have rarely left her on her own. And after Saurabh left them, six yrs back she was always there with her like her shadow.  The shadow made her figure prominent and outstanding.  Sunanda, what she is today, is a new persona than what she used to be when she got married.   The "woman" she called Mamma, helped her change the mould to make her the woman that she is now.
